Addressing Workforce at the Capital

Central Wisconsin Days is right around the corner, and we need you to join us in Madison. The actions of state government are critical to our local economy, as well as playing an important role in solving ongoing issues like workforce challenges. 2023 Is a budget year for Wisconsin. This means the stakes are high as lawmakers determine priorities for the next two years.

Central Wisconsin Day is an opportunity for business and community leaders to bring the voice of our region to Madison. Meet with policymakers from across the state and discuss how the legislature can help move Central Wisconsin forward.

What does attending the event look like?

When you join us, you’ll spend the day taking part in issue briefings, small group meetings at legislative offices, and networking with others from our area who are speaking on state government policy. Before the event, you’ll also be invited to online pre-event briefings to help you be prepared for an effective day in Madison. And don’t worry if you’ve never participated before. Our small group legislative office meetings will be led by Team Leaders.

Presenting The Issues in Central Wisconsin

Central Wisconsin Days presents important area economic issues to state policymakers. Topics for this year focus on Workforce: Childcare – Support of current infrastructure as a short-term solution while encouraging long-term solutions on regulatory issues. Housing – Support for incentives to spur housing developments in rural areas. Tax and Revenue Reform – We’ll encourage lawmakers to consider tax reforms – opportunities to reduce or eliminate the state income and personal property taxes, but also to address the financial squeeze on local governments and school districts.

Issue Papers will be available for review soon.
